Time Changes Things: Updates and Randomness
I suppose it's been quite some time, since I've updated our blog. Luke and I have been very busy, and this blog has taken a backburner in our lives. Tragedy has been a theme in our lives this past year, and we are finding strength and newness from our hope in God, our friends and our family. We're learning to live each day as if it were our last, because we never know what may happen tomorrow.
I'm still busy working at CROSS, implementing a bit more of my creativity. Of course, in my free time, I'm creating artwork and still spending a lot of time with my wonderful husband.
Luke is still working as much as possible with his postdoctoral fellowship. In fact, he just received an amazing grant with the NIH, and now we know that we'll be here for at least another year and a half. CHEERS to Luke! In his free time, he's been brewing beer and finding new ways to create unique dates for his wife. In fact, our five year anniversary occurred this past December, and he surprised me with an amazing date. Since the traditional gift for a five-year anniversary is wood, he bought a wooden box from Ten Thousand Villages, placed it in the kitchen, and left a note for me to meet him at the Boylston stop at 1 pm. It was all a mystery date, which made it so much fun! He surprised me with a visit to the Body Worlds Exhibit, time with him on a weekday, and dinner in the North End. What a [hopeless] romantic? I appreciated it!
We've had many visitors in the past few months, and my mom marked the beginning of them all! She visited us during my birthday month, March, and we had a great time.
Now, we are preparing for another hobby that we are intending on participating in this summer... our community garden. Currently, we are starting seeds and hoping for the weather to participate with us, so we can go work the soil. With all of our other free time, we're trying to find a new meal to cook, since it's one of our favorite ways to spend time together.

Shawna!
I don't know if you remember us, but this is Nathan Clair! From mosaic! How are you? Where are you and Luke and what are you guys doing these days?
We are moving to Nashville at the end of the summer. I am doing a second masters at Vanderbilt. We're expecting our first baby in July!
Hope you are well and still playing guitar! =)
