This path was one of our final ascents. It led us up Aspinwall Hill, which connects a T-stop to the hilltop. Boston University originally planned on locating its campus here, but the Great Fire of 1872 changed that plan. On this path, we passed the location of what once was a Bavarian-style castle/mansion. We saw all kinds of uniquely designed homes, and at the top of the hill now there is a park, which is surrounded with Colonial-style houses designed by Royal Barry Wills. And, 27 of theses houses won the 1932 Better Homes in America competition.
